Yes, bootfitter I know.
Already been there and the Il Moro's are frigging awesome for my foot. The only thing I don't like too much is how soft the tongue is.
I currently have a 100mm last boot and I still find it could be a little bit more snug actually, so that's why I tried getting a 98mm last and it's super nice.
Pretty much 2 questions in this thread:
- Can Il Moro tongues be swapped?
- How does the Il Moro shell compare to the 98mm FT shell (all 98mm FT's are the same right? Except for tongue flex/graphics). Aren't they based on the exact same model?

The Il Moro tongues are designed to be swapped out more easily than any other boot on the market. There's a screw at the bottom of it with a hex fitting. They should have come with 2 sets of tongues anyway. "B" and "C" stiffnesses (?).

Oh really? That's cool. Didn't know about the tongues either. How stiff would those be tongues be? I would like one medium-stiff tongue for park and a suuuper stiff one for BC.

The B one is what I use to race (GS and more frequently skiercross) and use the C for everything else.
Just out of interest do you really want it to be super stuff for back country?

Il Moro comes with two tongues. I'd say that the flexes on those are roughly equivalent to the Full Tilt #6 and #10 tongues. This is based on the fact that I had Il Moros before and now I have FTs with the #8 tongue. The flex on my FTs is somewhere in between the two Il Moro tongues.

Yeah. I got a stiff boot now which I love and wouldn't want anything much softer. #6 and #10 sounds good. Might go for it!

i got the il moros this season and love them. with the ability to change tongues and also stiffen up the back of the boot they are super versatile. im looking to get a pair of the A tongues that come with the krypton pros, that way i can go from about a 90 flex to 130 depending on the tongue i have in

the other tongue that comes with the il moros is really stiff. I think I have the B and C ones, I have whichever one is softer in. I think it's the B one.

Just offering an alternative. There are boots like the salomon ghost 100 which you can adjust the flex of on the hill. There is a bolt in the back which if its there the flex is 120 and if you take it out its 100. All it takes is a 5mm allen key. So if you want powder in the morning, keep the bolts in, then if you move to the park, just take the bolts out and put them in your pocket. Much easier to carry an allen key then a spare set of tounges.
The ghost also has a 98mm last but also has custom shell to aid fitting. Also its not the only boot you can make adjustments on the fly with. Most boots offer some adjustment and usally its much qicker and easier then swapping tounges.

For insane Seth Morrison style stiffness, layer 2 tongues.

Salomon's don't really fit my feet well in general. The Ghosts didn't anyway. But thanks for the advice though!

Its not just salomons you can do it to, pretty much any boot can be customised, so dont think you need a 3 piece boot to be able to adjust the flex. I have had to bolt full tilts as the 10 tounge is still pretty soft compared to other boots on the market.

I have boots with a race style shell but all of the features of a park boot and they have removable bolts that work great. But it sounds like the ill moros will work good for you so i would stick with them
